What better way to start off the new year than hanging out with our favorites! Sai had her very first sleep over with her cousin Kate at Nana's house. When we came home from our new years party, this is what we found. Two little best friends, in the same bed, in matching jamies! We headed out for some traditional sledding the next day. Pretty sure it was the coldest day in Logan history but of course the kids didn't seem to mind.
I love the pictures below! All my favorite girlies!
Sai was totally into the sledding this year. She was whooping and hollering the whole time!
I just had to include this picture. Nana gave us these rubber cups for poaching eggs for Christmas. All of a sudden we turned around and Sai had put them down her shirt to look like "bobby pins" (That's what she calls boobs). She thought it was hysterical.

After a good long trip to Utah for the holidays and Jord's wedding it was time to head home. For the first few days all we could talk about was the weather. We got settled right in and slowly fell into the routine life we've been dreaming of. Our weeks are made up of school for Sai at the Northside Christian Church. She absolutely LOVES it! She loves her teachers Miss Kathy and Mrs. Ruth. She has learned how to sit criss cross applesauce. The religious aspect felt a little over the top at first, but I'm growing to find it all pretty sweet and endearing. She has learned that God is always there to help us, he created everything, and she can pray in sign language which then ends by blowing a kiss to God :) The other day we were walking home from the park. The sun was setting and it was a beautiful evening. All of a sudden, she hopped off her bike, faced the sun, threw her arms back, and said, "I love you God." It was actually a pretty sweet little moment.

At our house we do A LOT of wrestling. It's become part of the daily routine. Landon and Sai REALLY get into it. They really punch each other and kick each other. They steam roll over each other and then stand up and box some more. I always hold Riggs on the bed and watch these crazy fools. But the cutest part is watching Riggs. His face just lights up and his eyes follow them every where. He gets so excited and starts reaching out for them. So every once in a while I get down and help him beat up the other crazies in our family. He just starts laughing and squealing! You can tell he is having so much fun! It's the BEST! It's for sure made for some of my favorite moments in live EVER! He's such a great addition to our family. We all love him SO much, including Sai. She is such an amazing big sister. In fact, the other day she did a big sigh and said, "Mom? I just love Riggs so much!"

Sai has recently discovered the cartoon Diego and begs to watch it constantly. Which makes for frequent disappointment. But when she isn't watching it, she's singing the theme song which has now become the background noise to our home.

The other major part of our week is the park, the park again, and... oh ya, the park! Sai would live there if she could. We have two main parks that we love. One is just over a mile away so we walk there. When Sai got her bike for Christmas I thought there was no way she could ride that far. Well, I only had to say the words "It's too far for you to ride your bike" and the challenge was on. She let me know that she was a big girl and she could make it. Sure enough, she rides to that park a couple times a week now without even taking a break. She wants to race and it wears me right out! It is like that bike was with her in the womb! She's seriously like a professional rider already. We even attempted no training wheels last week because we feel like it's already time to progress.

My only complaint is that we have to stop at every rock and climb on it, ever tree stump and balance on it, every dirt patch and draw in it, every rock bed and pick one that looks like an egg for a treasure, every acorn tree and find a few, every windy curb and walk on it, every electrical box and stand on it, every meter cover and jump on it, EVERY DRIVEWAY AND LOOP HER BIKE ON IT. SERIOUSLY! It takes us FOREVER to get any where! I love this girl! She has personality shining out her bum. Pardon the french but that's seriously the only way to put it. She makes my heart want to explode! She makes me so happy! I'm so freaking in love with her. Every day I step back and take a deep breath for patience and that's when I realize that I'm in the middle of the greatest moment ever.
She's just beautiful, isn't she?!
To my great surprise and joy, there is a shaved ice shack at our favorite park! If you know me at all, you know I'm a sucker for shaved ice. It's our special treat for finally arriving at the park :) Sai is learning all kinds of new tricks on the gymnastic bars at the park. It's seriously blowing my mind. She's so brave. She can do all kinds of flips and tricks now. The best part is seeing the pride on her face when she masters a new one. There's a big skate park right next to this park. Too often, I look down at Riggs for one second and in that amount of time I've lost Sai. More often than not, I find her with her face pressed against the fence watching the skateboarders. She's just in awe over their tricks. The other day we were driving away in the car. She rolled down her window and YELLED, "You're awesome skateboarders!"

Riggs tried his first solids this month! As you can probably guess, he LOVED it! Whenever we eat he just has this longing in his eyes for the food on our plates and reaches out to have some. He was pretty thrilled to eat something new! The only problem is he screams in between each bit because I can't feed him fast enough. Well, the bigger problem is that I'm really started to feel like he's becoming uninterested in my milk! Little weasel!
When Riggs get's excited about something he does this little dance. It's hands down our favorite thing he does so far. It's so funny! He shakes his hips back and forth and bends his knees. It's hilarious and adorable all at the same time. The other day we were leaving stake conference and as we were walking out Sai turned around to a group of people from our ward, put her pinkie and pointer finger in the air and yelled, "ROCK ON DUDES!" We were cracking up!
This is probably too serious of a story to blog about, but I thought I'd share anyway. About a week ago I had a dream that I died and came through the veil. I won't go into all the details but it has truly changed me. For a couple days afterward, I was left with this really heavy feeling. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since but it really brought home the importance of cherishing every moment. A couple days later Landon and I just so happened to watch a movie called Courageous. Very amateur acting but TOTALLY worth watching. It had a great message about this same concept. I've been especially overwhelmed by the little moments I'm able to enjoy with my kids and with Landon. This is quite a special opportunity we're given to come here to Earth and share it with our families. It's an interesting thing to ponder on what you really want to spend your time doing every day. You have a very different perspective when you wonder if every moment will be your last. I've learned to hug just a little bit longer, speak a little bit kinder, and be a little more present in the moments that will be gone so quickly. I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me with my life and my time here on this Earth.
We enjoyed a fabulous superbowl and belated Christmas celebration with the Lewis's on Sunday! Go Ravens! The kids had a great time playing together and exchanging Christmas gifts. We enjoyed some yummy food, and I enjoyed watching the Ravens win :) We love and miss you all so much!
Love, Landon, Britt, Sailor, and Riggs
