Jer and Mands and JANUARY!

One of the many things I have come to LOVE about Jeremy is that he LOVES to set goals for the new year come January 1st! We talked about it all of December and we each made our own list of goals then come New Years Day we sat down and shared what we hoped would be our new resolve for this year. One of the goals I set was to "Speak no ill" and I broke it within the first 20 minutes! You can tell I really need to keep working on that one. We laughed pretty hard that it was so easily broken. Jer really does an amazing job at goal setting though. He has financial, spiritual, home improvement, travel, you name it and he has been thinking about a way to improve and do better than we did last year! I love that about him and hope I can do a little better with my goals.
This month has been a busy one. I can't believe how quickly time goes by. Church has kept both of us more than a little busy. I LOVE being in the primary and am having so much fun learning with the kids. Jer will often come into primary to visit. I think he really comes in to get a good laugh from the kids and their cute comments and his wife trying to steer those cute comments and thoughts back to the topic of the day. Jeremy is doing great things in the bishopric. I marvel at his sweet spirit and kind heart. Everyone knows they can always receive a kind word or smile from "Brother Wimmer". He has the responsibility to assign speakers about once a month for our sacrament meeting. It is not his favorite part of the calling but a couple of weeks ago he was prompted to ask a sister in our ward that is 88 years old. He was hesitant to call her and I think she was a little hesitant to accept but she spoke and it was beautiful. She brought such a sweet spirit to our meeting and had so much wisdom to share. I am so thankful for the promptings he is receiving and following.
We have spent this month working and shoveling snow and then shoveling some more snow! I don't think I have EVER seen this much snow in downtown Salt Lake. Tess is LOVING it! I have attempted to go running with Tess in this cold weather and it makes her so happy. She runs through the huge snow piles and I run on the sidewalk and we can actually keep the same pace. Normally she is dragging me along so for once I feel like we have evened the playing field. I miss running with Kendra and Brit but I guess for now Tess will have to do!
Jer and I also got to go out to Park City just before New Years and do some late night snowshoeing by the light of the last full moon of 2012. It was a real treat! We went with Courtney and Bryan. We hiked up to a little hunting cabin, sat around a heater chatting until we couldn't take the cold anymore and then headed home. When we got to the car the temperature read 3 below zero... a little cold to be out  but I would do it again so I guess it was worth it.
Our big news this month is that we decided to find a new doctor to help us grow our family. No good news yet but we feel we are getting closer all the time. Both Jer and I are healthy and have no reasons that would suggest that we won't be able to start our family. We did an IUI last month that didn't work but we are trying again this month and are very hopeful. I have spent a lot of time in the temple lately and I know Heavenly Father hears our prayers and understands our desire to have children. We look at all of the pictures  on Instagram and now this blog and see the joy that comes from FAMILY. We are so thankful to be part of your family and feel so lucky to have such great nieces and nephews. We miss being with all of you more. I know we haven't been the best at keeping in touch this past month but we promise to be better... we don't want to miss out on the achievements and fun times! We LOVE you ALL!

Sorry the pics are all so small! I uploaded from my phone and am too tired to figure out what went wrong. Better luck next month!
